STEAMIE Meenie Miney Mo: Creating a STEAM Curriculum for Our Littlest Learners

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

No need to wait to innovate! Preschoolers are filled with natural curiosity. Let’s build on that by developing engineering practices in preschool. By combining science concepts with inventive engineering challenges, we capitalize on that wonderment and awe while at the same time cultivating a student’s natural desire to explore and discover. With just enough support, preschoolers can learn to identify a problem, imagine possible solutions, blueprint a design, build a prototype, test and improve upon it, and communicate their ideas. Curious how engineering practices can be integrated into preschool classrooms? Come play! See how beloved and entertaining storybooks can serve as catalysts for wildly engaging STEAM lessons for our smallest scholars’. We’ll discuss why engineering practices are an important part of early learning and participate in a number of successful examples of STEAM activities integrated into preschool classrooms.
