BREAKOUT! Collaboration, Problem Solving, Engagement, and Plain Old Fun!

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Can you and your your fellow ShiftinEDUers use critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration to learn about some PD ideas, solve various clues, and save a teacher's budget? Enjoy this hands on example of BreakoutEDU in action, and then see the ins and outs of creating your own engaging breakout experiences for your classroom. The process of developing a breakout will be presented, including theme, clue design, procedures, content ideas, curricular connections, and the physical set up of the activity. After brainstorming ideas and seeing multiple resources for breakout clues, participants will hopefully time (and collaborative brain power) to start designing their own breakout!

I try (heavy on the try) to make the nation's past come alive for my 8th grade young historians through enthusiasm, activity, technology, and humor - and then share those techniques with teachers of all ages and disciplines! Bottom line - I like learning, 'cuz learning is cool!
